He was having a restless sleep...

This week we have been focusing on the viewer (a book) by Shaun Tan So there was phrase that was "he was having a restless sleep", this means that we have seen something that we can not get it out of our head. So Tristan (the boy) had looked at some photos that terrified him, and he thought that it will come true. So we had to act that out. This is me having a restless sleep, I  worked with my friend Shahid to photograph and to edit this photo.

Explanation ; How To Survive Your First Night In Minecraft

Have you ever wondered how to survive your first night in Minecraft because today I am going to be telling you how to. Now if you are new to Minecraft then good for you I am going to be explaining Minecraft to you!

Your first order of  business, Go and assemble some wood from the trees. You will need these for building weapons and crafting. Also you will be needing wood because you want to build a house, you need more branches to make ligneous planks and also to make your house. Lots of resources, what I mean by that is lots of food and weapons to stay away from creepers.

Secondly, you have got to have a wooden door  and then you need craft sticks to make weapons. Also you need to find a good place to build a shelter and put your door in  your shelter. Don’t go just in a cave because there might be creepers and monsters there. Also add a bed.

Fastly, run to get light. You can also build a shelter in the tree and make sure your intact and can see your surroundings. Or you can neatly dig into the side of the mountain and build a shelter there. Now at first I told you, you needed lots of sticks and wood.

As soon as possible, kill cows and pigs so you won’t get starve and die. You also need to mine cobblestone to build a furnace. Also mine sand so that you can can get glass so you drink in it. You can get a cobblestone by using a pickaxe and then you go mining for them. When you are hungry kill animals so you can get more food. You will know that you will get hungry because it shows one drumstick you are hungry.

Lastly, you have your house and your bed do now you can sleep your night and relax.

You will need to put lights on the windows.

In Week 6 of Term 1 our class focussed on how to write great explanations. We wrote about how to survive your first night in Minecraft (the game a lot of us are obsessed with!).

Explanation writing

Today I will be explaining to how does the sound get underwater including the Kina, if you do not know what a kina is it is a living organism that looks like a hedgehog because it has spikes on the body of it. The Kina vibrates the sea by their rasping teeth, as they bite on some rocks the waves keep vibrating and making huge noise,
also when the kina makes the noise then it makes the other animals weak.
Kina eats algae.

 it is the time where it tell you that I am writing the body part .When the Kina is on the rock in the sea then the Kina bites on the rock with its rasping teeth and then the sea vibrates, the other animals in the sea get weaker and weaker then it disturbs the  animals.  The Kina eats the algae and then the razor teeth go on and on and on.  Also some of the Kina’s are ok or like it to make their living habitat a Coral reef.

The sound waves are going up to the other sea animals, maybe the Kina is doing this because it is his enemy or that he doesn’t like them maybe it is his friends and they were just playing. The wonderful sound waves can go from a long way out it and go up to nearly the whole sea!. Next the animals run away from the Kina.

The Kina is very special in ways because sometimes they can kill other animals just by vibrating and that is good because some of the the animals can eat us, and kill us
for example sharks can kill us, Hammer fish and big fish.

Also in the water some people go fishing and then their boat might rumble a bit if they are really close to the spot of where the Kina is and if they are even far they might feel it because the sound is strong. Also can affect others.


Now, you know how sound travels underwater from a Kina, and now you can also tell all your friends and your mates. I hope you found this explanation very helpful also you could maybe make a explanation for me about the kina or something else.

In week 4 of term 3 our class has been focusing on learning how to write great explanations about how sound travels underwater. We have expanded our vocabulary in our inquiry topic ‘The Noisy Reef,’ and learnt about the structure of a great explanation piece. It was quite a challenge, but we really enjoyed watching clips to stimulate our ideas and having discussions about terms which were new to us.
